About Cusco
Cusco is one of the Americas' most extraordinary cities — the ancient capital of the Inca Empire and the gateway to Machu Picchu, set at 3,400 metres above sea level in the Andean highlands where Spanish colonial baroque churches and monasteries rise directly from Inca stone foundations laid five centuries before the conquest. The result is one of the most historically layered and visually dramatic cityscapes in the world, where every street corner reveals the collision and fusion of two great civilisations.
For trekkers, history enthusiasts and adventure travellers, Cusco is the essential starting point for some of the world's great walks — the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the Salkantay Trek through high-altitude passes and cloud forest, and day hikes to the fortress of Sacsayhuamán and the market town of Pisac in the Sacred Valley. The Cusco food scene, led by acclaimed restaurants exploring Andean ingredients and techniques, has become one of South America's most celebrated culinary destinations.
Eutouria designs Cusco experiences that combine the city's extraordinary archaeological and cultural heritage with the world-class trekking and adventure opportunities of the surrounding Andes — ensuring that every traveller, whether arriving by train or completing the Inca Trail on foot, experiences Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley with the depth and knowledge that transforms a visit into a genuine encounter with one of humanity's great civilisations.

Your Journey
Cusco was the navel of the Inca world, and its magic endures in the Inca walls beneath colonial churches, the coca-leaf rituals of Andean healers, and the altitude that makes every sunrise feel earned. This is where South America's most ancient civilisation meets its most vibrant present.

Insider Tip
Cusco sits at 3,400 metres — take your first day slowly and drink copious amounts of coca tea (mate de coca), available free at most hotels. Avoid heavy meals and alcohol on the first day. If altitude symptoms persist, pharmacies sell Sorojchi Pills (aspirin, caffeine, and salophene) over the counter — they work remarkably well.
